One of the key challenges of this project was working within a React-based environment alongside a design system developed by a distributed team in Spain. The technical choice of React, combined with the use of iFrames, introduced specific limitations that required creative user experience compromises. Additionally, integrating with ShipEngine's legacy backend required extensive and constant collaboration with the engineering team throughout the onboarding process build.

The existing design system also presented a hurdle, as it was not fully optimized for responsive screens at the time. I took the initiative to propose and specify necessary updates to improve responsiveness, which were successfully implemented by the design system team.

The project moved at a rapid pace, which often limited the window for extensive user testing and ideation. Despite these time constraints, the team maintained a highly collaborative and positive spirit, working together to solve problems quickly.

Ultimately, we delivered the project ahead of schedule. ShipEngine Elements represents a critical technical component for Auctane's global product strategy, and I am proud to have played a key role in its successful launch.
